The way to know for certain that God is calling you to be a priest is to commit to go to seminary. So, I recommend taking the plunge, trust the Lord and go. It can only help you!

Talk with priests and/or seminarians, they went though the seminary process and can help calm any fears or anxieties about entering. Also pray, if God is actually calling you to enter seminary and become his priest he will let you know.

When we live a good Catholic life and have a habit of talking to (prayer) and receiving God in the sacraments, we are better able to understand where he's leading us.

Pray and participate as frequently as possible in the reception of Holy Communion. Your calling is from God, so discernment necessarily requires that your relationship with Him be strong.

Attend daily Mass as possible and pray some of the Divine Office. The prayer of the Church is both a channel of grace and a way to experience the heart of the prayer life of a seminarian and priest.

Take your discernment to Our Lord in the Eucharist at Adoration. Adoration was essential for my discernment, without it I don’t think I’d be here. I’d also say you ought to develop a deep devotion to Our Lady. The intercession of Our Mother is very powerful and she loves her seminarians!

If you feel God’s call and it is a constant idea in your mind, then you should give seminary a chance so you can discern your call further.

You've already begun to think about becoming a priest, what's stopping you from diving in, and taking a chance on God? You are called for something, and God's people will be there along the way to help guide you to your destination - even before you reach seminary! Let your worries go, and lean on the Lord and have an open heart.

Pray always and often! God desires an intimate relationship with you, and prayer is the best way to know Him. His plan for you will fulfill you unlike anything else in this life. Whether you are called to the priesthood or not, discernment is a gift that enables us to know Him and love Him more deeply than ever before.

Be open to being used by God and don't be afraid of answering the call. Trust in God, and have faith that He has a purpose and plan for your life and that nothing you do will be a wasted effort; but if you never try, you will always be left thinking: “what if?”
